United Hands Health & Wellness Clinic provides Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) medical and physical examinations for the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or Commercial Motor Vehicle certifications.
Your DOT examination will be administered by a licensed nurse practitioner or physician who will let you know each
step of your examination process.
Upon completion of your DOT physical examination, it will be kept on record, and you will be able to use it for up to a full 24 months. Should you have existing conditions such as high blood pressure or other diagnoses, additional monitoring may be required.

Minimum of 20/40 Vision
Must be able to identify traffic signal colors
Hearing should be clear enough to hear a whisper at 5 feet
Maximum blood pressure should be 160/100. Note: Use of medication is allowed provided that you are under the consistent care of your doctor. Your doctor may also be required to provide medical documentation.
Diabetes controlled with diet and exercise is allowed.
Diabetes that requires injections is not allowed
Blood sugar should be 200 or less
Use of Marijuana (Cannabis), Heroine, Cocaine, and other similar drugs is strictly prohibited and not allowed
Diagnosis of heart disorders will require additional examinations and test to determine whether or not you are eligible to drive a commercial vehicle without restrictions
Your DOT Physical will include the following:
Medical History Review
Physical Examination
Standard vision and hearing examination
Urinalysis (Urine Test)
